Metis is proud to announce that once more it has been chosen as a supplier by a world leading manufacturer of wind power generators, on this occasion for a completely automated magnetizing solution for very large rotors with variable length.

Wind power is a renewable and sustainable energy source that is currently experiencing rapid market growth. In order to answer to this increased demand, the electrical technology is moving towards permanent magnet generators. Because of the large permanent magnets required, handling pre-magnetized magnets needs to be avoided and in-situ magnetization is necessary.

Metis is well known in the magnetizing market for its energy efficiency and control of the magnetic profile, guaranteeing the most energy-economical solution available without compromizing performance. In multiple cases, an energy reduction by a factor 3 to 4 compared with other potential suppliers has been achieved. When large rotors are involved, Metis’ efficiency gain makes in-situ magnetization economically interesting where competing solutions are not.
